Pedestrian Collisions in West Virginia
Pedestrians are some of the most vulnerable roadway travelers. Even though it can be a great way to get around, walking is far from safe, especially if you’re sharing the road with a motor vehicle. In 2022, 21 pedestrians were killed in West Virginia traffic accidents. This was about eight percent of all traffic deaths in the state that year. This figure was even higher in 2021, with 36 reported pedestrian deaths contributing to 12.8 percent of all traffic deaths. In West Virginia, many fatal accidents involving pedestrians happened at night or when there wasn’t much light, on highways, when the weather was nice, at non-intersections, and on straight, level roads right outside of towns.
If you or someone close to you is unfairly hurt as a pedestrian, you should consult a competent legal team to get the most out of your case.
