Hernshaw, WV (February 1, 2025) – On Friday, January 31, one person was killed and others were hurt after a multi-vehicle collision outside of Hernshaw. The deadly accident took place on Route 94 early that morning around 7:30 a.m. Local reports revealed that 32-year-old Jacob Jones was driving a car on the roadway when he lost control of his SUV for unknown reasons and veered into oncoming traffic.
At that point, Jones crossed into southbound traffic where he crashed into a silver SUV traveling north. He was then hit by a black SUV also headed northbound. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid to the involved parties. Despite life-saving support from local paramedics, Jones sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the other vehicles were also injured and transported to local hospitals by ambulance for treatment. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities worked to clear the scene. No further information on the incident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
