Institute, WV (December 27, 2024) – At least one person sustained injuries in the aftermath of a traffic accident in Institute on Thursday, December 26. Emergency crews were sent to the scene at the corner of ST Avenue S. and Walker Addition Road that afternoon around 12:29 p.m. Three vehicles were reportedly involved in the crash. All eastbound lanes were closed as a result of the incident.

The roadway was temporarily closed while paramedics and authorities were present. The injured parties were provided aid at the scene before being transferred to a local hospital to undergo additional treatment. The severity and number of the resulting injuries have not yet been determined. Tow trucks were needed to clear the resulting wreckage and reopen the site to outside traffic. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing crash investigation.
