Marmet, WV (January 29, 2025) – On Monday, January 27, a woman was killed after a pedestrian accident in the Marmet area. The deadly collision took place on MacCorkle Avenue late that night, around 7:15 p.m. Local reports revealed that the victim, 47-year-old Rebecca Jean Estep, was traveling on foot when they were struck by an oncoming motor vehicle.
Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the injured party. Estep was transported by ambulance to a trauma unit in a Charleston hospital for treatment. Despite life-saving aid, Estep sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The site of the crash was temporarily closed while emergency responders were present.
