Fatal Head-on Crashes in West Virginia
Because head-on collisions involve a substantial force of impact, they can cause injuries that could change someone’s life. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that head-on collisions account for 27 percent of road departures and approximately 14 percent of fatalities on American roads. According to data from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the fatality rate from head-on collisions was close to 58 percent in a recent year. This is startling and demonstrates the potential threat of being involved in this type of accident. If someone close to you is unfairly killed in a car accident, you may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim in order to pursue justice from the at-fault party and their insurance provider.
