Paw Paw, WV - One Killed, Another Hurt in Crash on WV-29

Paw Paw, WV (April 2, 2025) – On Sunday, March 30, one person was killed and another was injured after a two-vehicle collision in the Paw Paw area. The incident took place at around 4:18 p.m. on WV-29. A Honda Civic and a Toyota Tacoma reportedly collided at the scene. 

Local reports revealed that 23-year-old Noah Dean of Fredericksburg, VA, was driving the Honda southbound on the highway when he lost control and entered northbound traffic. The Honda hit the passenger side of the northbound Toyota, driven by 78-year-old Paul Joseph Byer of Johnstown, PA. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Despite life-saving aid from attending medical personnel, Dean suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Byer was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities were present. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
