South Charleston, WV (January 4, 2024) – At least one person sustained injuries in the aftermath of a car crash in the South Charleston area on Friday, January 3. That afternoon around 12:31 p.m., the collision was reported on Interstate 64 WB near Montrose Drive. The extent and number of the related injuries have not yet been determined.

Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to render aid to the involved parties. Those requiring further treatment were later hospitalized for further medical support and examination. The area was temporarily closed while paramedics and local authorities were present. Tow trucks were needed to clear the site of the resulting debris and reopen the roadway to outside traffic. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local authorities are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
